Just read your "happier offline" post and it couldn't be more resonant. I have been discovering much the same as you, albeit along my own path - though the picture of the internet as an escape from a bad life that may no longer be needed is a new thought for me to chew on, so thanks for that! For whatever it may be worth, you aren't alone in these feelings. I'm feeling it, I know, and I'm seeing it more and more often (ironically while on the internet). I do think there's power in sharing ourselves, and that is why we are so driven to put our words and art out publicly. Before the internet it was zines and flyers and homemade albums, in the ancient days it was cave paintings and stories by the fire. We have always wanted some piece of ourself to be known and accepted, and we strive to communicate that the best we know how - namely, in our art and expression. I think that's why we feel so empty when we force our art to fit the mold of some other, outward force. We are no longer expressing, we are simply laboring. Anyway, this has become too much of a ramble and I'll stop before I ramble even more. You've given me much to think about, and that is indeed one of the joys the internet still manages to maintain. I hope you find your balance and wish you all the best. Thanks for sharing.
